Preserving California’s wild heritage through restoration, education, and stewardship.
The mission of The California Wilderness Alliance is to preserve and restore recreational and historical sites across California’s diverse natural landscapes. We promote responsible stewardship through hands-on maintenance projects, educational outreach, and public engagement, ensuring safe and sustainable access for future generations.
An ongoing volunteer effort to hike high-traffic areas of the National Forest, collect litter, and report trail damage or missing signage. Each trek helps keep the forest clean, safe, and accessible for everyone.
A series of day and weekend camps that immerse youth in nature through hands-on lessons in forest safety, survival skills, and conservation — blending adventure, learning, and respect for the wild.
An annual New Year’s Day tradition at Pinecrest Lake where brave participants dive into icy waters to celebrate community and raise awareness for forest and waterway health. Volunteers assist with event setup, safety, and cleanup along the lakeshore.
